     Richard Kermeen Son of John Kermeen
and Anne his wife having left the Island about
25 years Agoe and no account of him for about
Twelve years past - Saving that he departed this
Life in the West Indies - And whereas no Will _
appears to have been made by him ~ And that it is
presumed he has died Intestate The Court Decrees
his Brothers Patrick & John Kermeen of the whole
blood -  ^together^  with his half Brother John Kermeen Junr. - 
joynt Administrators of all his Goods & Chattels -
whatsoever __ John Senr. - being abroad & Jon. Junr. -
absent - Sd. Patrick is Sworn in Court according to -
Law - and to bring in an Inventory to the Registry -
Pledges are - Robt. Christian & Wm. Kneal  ~

        The humble petition of Thomas Vondy of Ramsey
Sheweth
                 That John Kermeen late of Ramsey Decd. having in the Life time
          of his first wife Alice Kermeen als Claytor purchased certain Houses and a
          Garden in the said Town, the same became the Sole Right of the sd. John Kermeen
          his sd. first wife Alice Claytor having died without Issue & left her sd. husband
          Sole Exectr. __

          That after the sd. Alice Claytor's Decease the sd. John Kermeen ……….
          with Anne Kneale a Second wife, by whom he had Issue three Sons, vizt.
          John Richard and Patrick Kermeen, to the latter of whom She left her [part]
          of [certain] Barn and appointed her sd. Three Sons Equal Execrs. of her half
          of the Garden and of all the Rest of her Goods moveable & immoveable
          by force & Virtue whereof the sd. Richard became equally intitled with his
          sd. Brothers John & Patrick in their sd. mother's half or share of the sd. Garden
          and of the other houses She died possessed of (Except the sd. Barn which She
          desired as aforesd. to Patrick) ___                                   
          That the sd. Richard having soon afterwards left the Island   ^& having died Sometime ago abroad^ and the sd. 
          John Kermeen his father having married a third wife named Alice Crenilt
          the said John Kermeen had by her one Son, named John Kermeen who is
          Still living, and whom, the late decd. Vicar General Edwd. Moore did decree
          joint Administrators with Patrick & John Kermeen Brothers of the Whole
          Blood of all the Goods & Chattells of the sd. Richard, as by a Decree of
          Administration dated at Ramsey, the 6th February 1748, signed only by
          him the sd. Vicar - Greneral & that is the absence of John Kermeen the Brother
          of the whole blood, who was then abroad & is resident at Whitehaven in England
          altho' the sd. Richard had no other Part of the sd. Houses and Gardens than
          what became due to him by the last will and Testament of his sd. Mother
          Anne Kermeen als Kneale, and whereunto the Petitr. Humbly apprehends
          the sd. John Kermeen Junr. the Brother of the half Blood,  ^cannot^ can by the Laws [of]
          this Isle have not the least pretension or Right , but notwithstanding he
          hath taken upon him by virtue of the sd. Temerary Decree of Administ[ration]
          to pass over and sell a proportionable Share of the sd. Garden & other
          Concerns to one Thomas Kne…(fold): whereby your Petitr. will become a great
          Sufferer, if not relieved by your Reverences, as he has lately purchased th……
          …. John Kermeen of [Whitehaven] his part of the sd. [con……(faded corner)

          your petit. therefore for relief in the premises most humbly
          prays that the sd. Temarary Decree of Administration may [be]
          enquired into, and that your Reverences wou'd be pleased
          to appoint a day for the hearing thereof with your authority
          to Cite the sd. John Kermeen Junr. Brother of the half Blood
          to sd. Richd. Kermeen Decd. and the sd. Thos. Kneale before you
          to the [end] that Right & Justice may be administered in the premises
          according to the Laws of this Isle __ and your petitr. as in
          Duty bound shall for your Reverences ever pray __
          
                        Octr. 19th . 1753.
                        We appoint a hearing of the matter contained
                        in the above petition at our next Consistory
                        Court to be held at Lezayre and the petitionr.
                        is to give the Adverse parties due Notice.

At a Consistory Court holden at Lezayre 7th Novr. 1753
on consideration of the foregoing Peticon. of Thos. Vondy
of Ramsey, as also of a Decree of Administracon made on
the Goods of Richd. Kermeen / son of John Kermeen & Ann
Kneale his wife / on the 6th Feb: 1748. and after having 
fully heard the parties, We say that Patrick & John
Kermeen  ^[Senr.]^  Brethren to the decd. Intestate of the whole
Blood  by the mother, ought to have been Decreed __
Joint Admrs. of all such Goods as became due to the sd.
decd. by the last will of their mother, And that the
sd. Patrick & John Kermeen Senr. with John Kermeen
Junr. Brethren of the whole Blood by the Father, __
ought also to have been Decreed Joint Admrs. of all such
                                             Richd.
Goods as became due to sd.  ^  decd. by the death of their
Father, and that were acquired by the Industry of the
sd. decd. Intestate -  ^/ if any such there were /^  And they are hereby severally Decreed
[accordingly]  And Whereas Thos. Vondy aforesd. has by


          Deed bearing date of 17th [Sept:] [1753]      (edge faded)
          shipfull Deemster Mylrea th……..  
          purchased from John Kermeen …… [afore] ………
          houses & Gardens with their appertenances [in the]
                                                              a share 
          Town of Ramsey, being part ^  of the [effects of sd.] …..
          He the sd. Vondy is therefore in virtue of his ……….
          sworn Admr. of the Goods & Chattels of sd. Decd. [so far]
                      sd. John Senr. has a [right to]
          forth as  ^  to [complexed] in the sd. Deed a [right] of …….
          …. sd. Richard's Assetts (if any such therebe) being ……            
          hereby  ^still^  reserved to the aforesd. John Kermeen ……..
          pledges in form of Law for sd. Vondy are [Patr] [S……]
          of Ramsey & Thos. Clucas of Jurby.
