Archdeacon Wills 1748 #93, Bride, of Margaret Goldsmith als xxx, died about 14 Feb 1747/48:

‘This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Margaret Goldsmith who departed this life about the 14th of February 1747 being of sound mind and memory at the making hereof. First, she committed her soul to God and body to Christian burial. Item, she left to her son William a mutton legacy. Item, she left her grandson William the Croft and if the said William die underage the said Croft to return to his brother Thomas. Item, she left to her daughter Margaret a petticoat legacy. Item, she left to her granddaughter Katharine Lace a petty coat. Item, she left to her daughter Anne a sheep and a lamp or a blanket. Item, she left to her granddaughter Margaret Loann a lamb. Item, she left to Margaret Christian a petty coat. Lastly, she appointed her daughter Elizabeth sole executrix of all the rest of her goods moveable and immovable whatsoever and six pence each to the witnesses of her will. Witnesses: David Christian, Ann Tear.

Elizabeth the executrix is sworn in Court in form of Law; pledges are David Christian and Philip Sayle.’
