the following North Side Sale (Maughold May 1731 #42) probably refers to same couple - no marriage can be found - it is also possible that the two children Margaret (bapt Lonan 1724 to a John Looney and Margt, and John bapt Lonan 17260428 to John Looney are to the same couple
Know all men by these presents that we John Looney of the parish of KK Lonnon and Margrett Looney als Quark ^my wife^ divers good causes and reasons us here unto moving but especially for and in consideracon of the full and just sum of eighteen shills to be fully paid unto us att the worshipll Mr Deemster's atestacon hereof from the hands of John Kissagg of Ramsey town, have given granted, estranged alienated and sold: & doe by these presents give grant, estrange, alienate and for ever absol= :utely sell all our right tytle and intrest that wee now have or herafter may or ought to have of and unto a small house scituated in said town and joyning to the rent of Hugh Marteen on south side and to Edward Christian's rent on west side thereof bearing the annual rent of one penny or such as the sett enquest shall allott thereupon from us our heires executrs administrs or assignes Together with all the right tytle and interest that wee now have or here after may or ought to have of & unto a certain house stead or wast house near the fence of the said town and joyning to the southeast side of Wm Corletts rent and of the annuall rent of threepence for the consideracon of five shills to be paid unto us whensoever wee procure the said John Kissagg's name entered in the records for the ^whole of the^ same: To have & to hold use occupy and enjoy the said small house and housestead or wast house with all and every prifitt or easemt to them belonging or in any wise appertaining for ever from and after the date thereof: he the said John Kissagg paying yearly and every year all rents suits and services due and payable out of the premisses upon the times and seasons usually accustomed within this Isle, and for the true and faith= full performance of all and singular the premises both parties have bound themselves the one to the other their heirs executrs adminstrs and assignes under the penalty of five pounds to be levey= ed and paid according to law and custom within this Isle as witt= ness their subscriptions this 17th of June 1728 Signed and delivered in presence of Wm Cashin my mk x,David Corteen my mk x John Looney X, Margt Looney als Quark x, Jon Kissagg my mk x October 1728 Jon Looney & Margt his wife came this day and ackowledged the above bill of sayle to be their voluntary act decld before me Nicholas Christian At a sheeding court held at Douglas ye 10th May 1731 The wth in bill of sale being ackowledged before ye Deemstr & now published in open court & no objection offered against it & same is therefore allowed of & confirmed according to law Cha: Moore Tho: Horton Nicho Chritian James Horton Cha Stanley Dan Mcylrea
