The last will and testament of Elizabeth Radcliffe als Preston who departed this life about the 24th day of January 1742. First, she committed her soul to God and her body to the earth. Item, she bequeathed to her husband Henry Radcliffe the house and croft during his life and after his decease her son Henry to enjoy the same and if he should die it was to come and fall from child to child of the rest of her children and if all the children should die, her said husband is to get the said house and croft. Item, she bequeathed twenty shillings each to the children if they came to age to enjoy it. Lastly, she appointed her said husband executor of all the rest of her goods whatsoever, and left to Ann Kewn a shute of head-clothes, and a yellow quilted petticoat and a shute of head clothes for Marriott Shimmin. Witnesses: Thomas Shimin, Cath Comish, Ann Kewn.
Henry Radcliffe the widower is sworn executor in form of Law and there appearing no xxx on the part of the deceased, he is also sworn overseer, and has given pledges to John Cain Cly-cur & Thos. Shimin.
