"In the name of God amen. I Jony Oates being weak and sick in body do make
and ordain this my last will and testament.
Imprimis, I recommend my soul to God and my body to the earth to be buried in
a Christian like manner.
Item, I bequeath 5 pounds to my children equally betwixt them.
I bequeath to my sister Mary all my apparel (except the gown I wear every day
& a petticoat with double weaving ant to be for the children) she to pay
for the same twenty shillings to the children.
Item, I bequeath to Margaret Kinley a piece of mix chequer.
Item, I bequeath to William Kinley & Anne Keig six pence apiece.
Item, I constitute & ordain my husband John Oates Executor of this my last
will and testament all and singular my goods moveable and immoveable to be possessed

July 21st 1743: Mary Kelly came this day and acknowledged to have received all the apparel pursuant to the will of her sister Jony Oates for which she was to pay twenty shillings which is in the hands of the overseers and to be yet added to the Inventory. Before me, Robt. Radcliffe, Regr."
