Archdeacon Will 1739 #27, Bride, of Daniel Lace, died 6th April 1739:

"KK Bride: This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Daniel Lace of the parish of KK Bride who departed this life the 6th of April 1739, being in perfect mind and memory at the making of the same. Imprimis, he committed his soul to God and body to Christian burial. Item, he left and bequeathed to his eldest son William Lace half the crop of corn, half the team of oxen and husbandry gears together with a certain cloase in the parish of KK Andrews called Cloase y Drought, he, his aforesaid son paying the sum of four pounds to his Father’s Executors. Moreover he left and bequeathed all the sheep that were between them unto his said son William. The Testator’s wifevizt., Isable Lace als Kerruish gave her consent to her said Husband’s will, to give her own half of the above said cloase after her death, and also her part of the afore mentioned sheep to her said son William Lace, he, the said William likewise consenting to give a Croft that was between him and his said Mother wholly to herself. Item, to his son Daniel Lace twenty shillings legacy. To his son Ewan Lace six pounds. Item, to his daughter Catherin Callow als Lace twelve shillings legacy, which was in her own hands. l Item, he declared that there was two pounds two shilling due to John Christian from him. & 4 pence to the Clerk’s wife. Item, to the witnesses of his will fourteen pence each. Lastly, he nominated constituted and appointed his loving wife Isable Lace als Kerruish and daughter Isable join Executrices of all the rest of his goods and effects moveable and unmoveable whatsoever. Note that the above said William Lace the son has given his consent to his Father’s will, to pay the above mentioned sum of four pounds to his Father’s Executrices. Isabel Lace the widow gives her consent to settle her part of Close y Droghad upon her son William after her decease, and his part of the sheep in present possession. She consents to give her the chest within mentioned, as also to pay the four pounds to his Father’s Executrices. Isable junior one of the Executrices being underage, her Mother the other Executrix together with her son William are sworn in form of Law, who are to bring an Inventory of the goods to the Regry. The goods of the minor in her Mother’s hands who has given pledges, vizt., the Rector and the Clark of the parish.

This is a true and perfect Inventory of all the goods and effects moveable and unmoveable of Daniel Lace of KK Bride, deceased, prized by four sworn men, vizt., William Christian, John Christian, David Sayle, and William Kneale, as followeth: Imprimis, The Deceadents part of the hoope vessals vizt., barrels keeve tubs peall cans and mullags, prise to 0 pounds 12 shillings 0 pence; Item, the Dead’s part of the pewter and spoons to 0:7:6; The noggins trengers dishes chests & a tray 0:1:3; Item, the Dead’s part of the earthen vessels to 0:1:4; Item, his part of some grease in the house to 0:0:9; Item, his part of the bottles 0:1:3; A choice pot chair frame & table &c., reserved for corbs; Item the Dead’s part of the rest of the pots 0:3:0; His part of griddle and bake stone 0:1:8; His part of the heckle to 0:1:0; Item, candle the basket & candles 0:0:6; Item, his part of other baskets weighty sives & a ringe to 0:3:6; Item, his part of some loose dales, wheels, the Dead’s part to 0:6:0; Item, the dead’s part of 2 feather beds, 3 bolsters, rugs, blankets, fledges 2:0:0; Item, his part of more feathers 0:3:0; His part of some hides 0:0:9; Item, his part of the prests to 0:3:0; Item, his part of the chests 0:2:9; Item, the Dead’s part of the herring nets bags tows lines &c., prized to 0:11:6; Item, His part of the hemp to 0:2:6; Item, the Dead’s part of the linen cloth prised to 1:8:0; Item, the Deceadents apparel to 1:6:0; roops the Dead’s part to 0:1:2; Item, His part of some beacon to 0:4:8; Item, his part of some loose timber 0:3:6; Item, His part of the sacks & canvases 0:5:0; sickles a pair of claping xxx & a spit 0:1:0; Item, the Dead’s part of a pair of tongs 0:0:xx. The Moveable goods prised as follows: Item, the Dead’s part of the cow and small catle nuber 10 to 8:9:4; Item, his part of the riding horse 1:19:4; His part and other horse to 1:14:0; Item, his part also of another horse 0:14:0; Item, his part of a mare 0:6:0; Item, his part of the brood geese to 0:4:4; the goslings the Dead’s part to 0:8:0; Item, His part of the sheep number 41 prised to 4:2:8; Item, his part of the Lambs number 20 to 0:11:5; Item, the hens and ducks his part 0:0:9 1/2; Item, his part of five bowls of barley 1:10:0; Item, his part of 7 bowls and a firlett of oats 0:9:4; Item, his part of some stoaks of oats on Ewan Curlett’s land 0:3:4; meal corn, the dead’s part 0:4:1; Item, the Dead’s part of all heckled flax to 0:15:0 1/2; Item, his part of the hemp unpeeled & hemp seed 0:6:0; Item, his part of the dung hill & a stack of owl straw to 0:5:0; Item, his part of the flax unwrought 0:6:0; Item, the third part of an old sail and oar the dead’s part 0:1:0; Item, his part of an old firm and plank & a piece of timber behind the fire to 0:0:8; Item, the Deceadents part of a cupboard & dresser being the fourth part to 0:2:6; item, the Dead’s part of 4 pounds due from his son William Lace is 2:0:0; The Dead’s part of about two boat loads of lime in the kiln was prized at 15 shillings. The Deceadents part of the debts, as followeth: Due to John Christian in all two pounds 2 pence the Dead’s part thereof is 1:1:0; Due to John Joughen for weaving in all 9 shillings the Dead’s is 0:4:6; Item, to John Christian for weaving 5 shilling the Dead’s part whereof is 0:2:6; Servants wages, the Deceadents part 0:7:0; Funeral expenses two pounds besides burying fees Clerk’s silver &c. 2:10:0; Lord’s rent the Dead’s part 1:1:0. Note that the Funeral Expenses is 2 pounds 10 shillings. Children’s goods also to be Deducted as followeth: Imprimis to Dan Lace 1:0:0; Item to Ewan Lace 6:0:0.

June 27, 1739: John Kaighin enters a claim for 16 pence half penny.

At KK Christ Lezayre, Novr 4th, 1740: John Christian acknowledged to have received from Isabel Lace the Administrix the sum of fourty two shillings legacy bequeathed by Daniel Lace and does hereby acquit and discharge her for the same. [signed his mark] John Christian. Before me, Robt Radcliffe Register. Eodem die: Margt Corkish acknowledged to have received from Isabel Lace the Administratrix the sum of sixteen shillings in full for her wages. [signed her mark] Margt Corkish. Margt Crinnel acknowledges to have received from the above Administrix seven shillings and six pence for wages. [signed her mark] Margt Crinnel. John Christian acknowledges to have received from the above Administrix the sum of five shillings for weaving. [signed] John Christian. John Joughin also acknowledges to have received from the Administrix the sum of nine shillings for weaving. [signed] John Joughin. Before me R. Radcliffe Registr.

24th June 1749: George Cannell together his wife Isabel Cannel als Lace came this day and acknowledged to have received from William Lace the sum of four pounds left unto said Isabel by her father Daniel Lace and does hereby acquit and discharge the said William Lace for the same. Before me, Ro: Radcliffe, Regr.

24th June 1749: the above George Cannell and his wife Isabel do hereby acknowledge to be fully satisfied and paid for all that was due to them by the death of their father Daniel Lace and do hereby acquit and discharge his Executor for the same. Before me Ro:Radcliffe.

June 24th 1749: Cath: Callow als Lace Executrix of Ewan Lace came this day and acknowledged to have received from her sister Isabel the sum of six pounds bequeathed by Daniel Lace to his son Ewan and does hereby acquit the said Isabel and her Executors forever for the same before me, Ro: Radcliffe. Eod:die: said Cath: acknowledges to have received the further sum of forty shillings bequeathed to Ewan Lace by his mother Isabel Lace and does hereby acquit her Executor for the same before me, Ro: Radcliffe. Eod:die: George Cannell & his wife Isabel acknowledge to have received from their sister Cath: Callow the twenty shillings which said Cath: was liable to pay to Isabel by her Mother’s will and this before me, Ro: Radcliffe."
