Articles of Marriage condescended
unto concluded and agreed upon this
9th day of July 1729 between Dan:
Colvin son to Hugh Colvin & Ann
Colvin als Kewish on the one part
and Elinor Crellin daughter unto
Sylvester Crellin with the consent of
his wife Elizabeth Crellin als Cubbon
on the other part as followeth
First it is convenanted concluded and agreed upon
by and between the said partyes that the
sd Dan Colvin and Eliner Crellin shall
enter unto the holy estate of matrimony
at or before the 28th day of Augt next [m. Arbory 12 July 1729]
ensueing the date hereof God and holy
Church permitting the same
2ndly it is consentedand concluded and agreed
upon that the sd Sylvester Crellin and his wife
Elizabeth Crellin do give unto the young couple
a cow & bed cloathes immediately after their
marriage and likewise do give all our
right and interest of an intack lying near
the comons with Lonan [] [] rent after our
decease also the young couple paying all dues
and dutyes as the same fall due to the []
and to have the half which lyes south
now in present possession & the other half
after the decease of the longer liver as
above mentioned
3rdly it is covenanted concluded & agreed upon
the sd Sylvester Crellin & his wife Elizabeth
Crellin als Cubbon do give & settle all  th[eir]
worldly goods moveable & unmoveable
upon the young couple after the decease
of the survivor in manner following
the young couple is to have the one []
of all the effects or goods belonging to the sd
Silvester Crellin or Elizabeth his wife after
the decease of the first of them and a[]
rest of their goods after the death o[]
survivor excepting twenty shilss a piece []
they may dispose of it as they will
further more the young couple have
covenanted concluded and agreed upon
if it happens one of the young couple []
of departeth this world within a []
and a day without issue that the longest
liver having all whatsoever goods there is
moveable and unmoveable exceping twenty
shillings and for the performance of all &
singular the promises all partyes have
bound themselves each to the other in
the penalty of twenty pounds sterl in
manner of all forfeitures and to witness the same
they have hereunto sett their marks to
their names the day & year above written

above articles of marriage came this day
and have acknowledged the same to be
their voluntary act & deed before me

acknowledged before the Deemster
now published in open court and []
maters all objection being being [] agt
are therefore allowed of and confirm[]
according to law

This contract being provd before the Deemster the same is
accepted of in court as the last will of Sylvester Crellin in wch
having reserved twenty shills to his own disposing & no legal
appearing his children Jane & Elinr are decreed admin[]
the said twenty shill and accordingly Danl Colvin husb
of Ellinr (the other admintx being absent) is sworn in form
of law & gave in pledge John Garrett & Thos Quayle

memo this tho crossed is to stand good & Danl Colvin sworn accordingly
