Mr John Wattleworth junr of Ramsey departed this life about the 17th of Nov anno supradict intestate, whereof the court having intelligence hath decreed his five children vizt: John, Nich: Charles, Wm & Margt Wattleworth joint Admrs of all his goods & effects moveable & immoveable whatsoever. Charles being absent, Wm under age, the other three with the mother are sworn in form of law & gave pledges Robt Christian & Edmd Quark.

Whereas there are several accounts depending now in the Spiritual Court betwixt the executors of Mr. John Wattleworth of Ramsey deceased together with his widow Mrs. Elizabeth Wattleworth and John Cannel Douglas, cooper, and for as much as there hat been very often accounts of partnership as well as private dealings between Mr. Wattleworth deceased and John Cannell which he at this time cannot well remember or at least he is very indifferent to take his oath thereto. Therefore for the better accommodating and friendly determining of al strifes and differences which heretofore has any way happened betwixt both parties they do hereby mutually agree and bind themselves to refer all their disputes and differences to the arbitration and award of the Revd Mr. Woods, vicar general, and Mr. John Garrett, and whatsoever they both unanimously adjudge or determine in the matter, we bind ourselves to stand by to all intents and purposes according to the true meaning hereof and in case any disagreement between our arbitrators it is agreed upon by us that the two shall chuse such an umpire as they both shall think fit whose determination shall be final in all differences as afforesd; for performance hereof both parties have bound themselves either to the other in ye penalty of ten pounds to behavior according to law as witness their subscription ye 30 may 1738

Being chosen artibratrs betweixt Mrs Elizabeth Wattleworth widow & relict of the late Mr Jon Wattleworth of Ramsey in behalf of herself & the admrs of her sd husband on the one part, & John Cannel of Douglas cooper on the other part, as by a bond of arbitration bearing date the 30th of May 1730 more fully & may appear -and having fully weighed and taken into consideration al accounts and allegations offered by the parties on each side we do determine and adjudge that John Cannel shall, within two months, pay or cause to be paid to Mrs. Elizabeth Wattleworth and the admins of her husband £1 5s British in full of all demands and accounts between Cannel & John Wattleworth and also give them a bond to indemnify them against John Fell of Colton in Lancashire for the sum of £2 16s 4d alleged by Cannel and charged in the accounts as paid by him to Fell on Mr. Wattleworth’s score.
And this we return as our award in the premises this 27th May 1734
