"KK Andrews 1724/5: The last will and testament of Margt. Ratcliffe als Lawson, who departed this life about the 9th February 1724/5, and was in perfect mind and memory at the making of it. First, she committed her son to God, and her body to Christian burial. Item, she left to her eldest son her part of the land and crop. To her daughter Mary her linen and woolen clothes. To her three youngest children vizt., James, Thomas & Dollin Ratcliff a shilling apiece. Lastly, she nominated and appointed her loving husband William Ratcliff Executor of all the rest of her goods moveable and immoveable. And six pence to each of the witnesses. Witnesses: John Kneen, Jony Camaish. The Exeuctor sworn in form of Law. Pledges, John Kneen, and Philip Kneal. The good and children in the fathers hands."
