I John Cosnahan Vicar of St. Annes Parish thirty four years, being weak in body, but of sound & perfect memory, blessed be God for it, do make this my last will and testament as follows. First, I commit my soul to Almighty God my Creator, in an xxx hope of pardon and mercy for my sins past, & a joyful resurrection at the last day through the merit and mediation of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, & order my body to be decently buried unto the great stone in St. Annes Churchyard. Item, I leave the poor of the parish one bowl of barley. Item, I leave to my eldest son all my books, Greek, Latin & English, provided he is to let my younger son Hugh to have the use of them, during his going to school. Item, I leave to my son Charles fourty shillings legacy. Item, to my son Hugh forty shillings legacy. Item, to my daughter Katherin fourty shillings legacy. Item, to my daughter Anne fourty shillings legacy. Item, to my daughter Margaret fourty shillings legacy. Item, I ordain, constitute and appoint my loving wife whole and sole Executrix of all the rest of my goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever, to the end she may prove kind to my four children, vizt., Hugh, Katherin, Anne, & Margaret beforementioned, leaving her to dispose of the said goods to the said children according as she sees fit with the consent of the supervisors. Lastly, I ordain and appoint my eldest son John Cosnahan, Vicar of KK Lonan, & Mr. Robert Caesar of Ballahick supervisors of my younger children.
