Douglas October the 20th 1722 Mr Henry Corrin of the town of Liverpool Ship Carpenter in or about January last being as he said then to depart the Island Declared his will in manner following Imprs He Directed that he had impowered his cousin Charles Cosnahan to act for and recovour certain debts due unto him the said Henry Corrin att the same time particularly mentioning a debt due to him in England, at which (when recovoured) he bequeathed unto his neice Anne Cosnahan als Corrin Item He bequeathed unto his sd niece all the brandy that he had lodged in the hands of Mr Robert Moore Mercht of Douglas upon which he said he had taken a small sum of money with all other goods & effects belonging to him the said Henry Corrin Witnesses present Turner Ingoldsby Margt Ingoldsby At Castletown Oct 23d 1722 The witnesses of the within will being a husband & wife which makes but one witness in law the sd will is not for that reason accepted. Nevertheless the court being satisfyed thereby as with the annexed oath of the Rev Wm Gell of the decadents real intention to have made Mrs Ann Cosnahan (being the next of kindred within this isle, & no other relation appearing) be sworn Admrx of Mr Henry Youngs estate, of which she is to bring in a perfect inventory within two months, pay all debts &c and return an account thereof to any relation (if such there be) when the court shall adjudge to have a better right to the effects aforesaid The Rev Mr John Cosnahan husband to the above Mrs Ann Cosnahan is sworn in court in form of law. Pledges Mr Thomas Corlet & Edward Waterson Souldier (?) forman logis ? 3 Feb 1722 The Rev Mr Parr of Kk Arbory enters agt the extx of Mr Henry Corrin for 10s & craves the law. Douglas Octobr ye 20th 1722 I Wm Gell, vicar of Kk Conchan meeting with Mr Henry Corrin of ye Town of Liverpool Ship Carpenter at Mr Henry Moore's shop in Douglas, in or about January last, after some discourse, he declared himself as follows, viz that he was then going speedily of ye Island, yt he intended to make his will & send for his nephew Mr Jon Cosnahan of Kk Lonan either yt evening or ye next morning, and leave him what effects he had, particularly mentioning a debt due unto him in England.
