Archdeacon Will 1718/9 #18, Patrick, of John Clague, died about 22 November 1718:

"KK Patrick: This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Jon: Claigue who departed this life about the 22 of November 1718. First, he committed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial. Item, he left his daughter Marjery five shilling legacy. Item, to his daughter Isable five shillings. Item, to his daughter Margaret a cow, and all the sheep formerly named upon herself and all his part of to than viz., sheep of two years old, with a whole half a chest an a quarter of the crop. Item, he left to his daughter Kath a heifer with what sheep was formerly named upon or did belong to herself, the Executor and mother to keep the said heifer till she was in calf. Item, he left his son John clague sole Executor of all the rest of his goods moveable and unmoveable whatsoever.

Witnesses: Thomas Quine, Margaret Comish.

February 14^th 1718/19: I William Clerk of KK Malew husband to Madge Claigue do hereby acknowledge to have received this day from my brother in law John Claigue five shillings being the whole legacy left my wife aforesaid by her father John Claigue deceased, and do hereby acquit, exonerate and discharge the said John Claigue (my brother in law) his Executors and assigns forever for the same, as witness my mark to my name the year and day above written. I Isabel Colvin als Claigue do hereby acknowledge to have received this day from my brother John Claigue five shillings in full of the Legacy left me by my father John Claigue deceased, and do acquit and discharge my said brother, his executors and assigns forever for the same, as witness my mark to my name the year and day above written. October 25^th, 1721: This day Margaret & Catherine Claigue daughters to the above John Claigue being at lawful years, did acknowledge to be fully paid and satisfied by their brother John for what was due to them by the above will, and did acquit and discharge their said brother his heirs and assigns forever of the same, witness their marks to their names the day and year above written.
