Archdeacon Will 1716 #30, Patrick, of Radcliffe Shimmin, died about 2nd March 1715/6:

"Patrick: This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Radcliffe Shimmin who departed this life about the 2nd day of March 1715/16. First, he committed his soul unto God, and his body to Christian burial. Item, he left to his wife Joney Shimmin als Clucas a heifer in calf and the black filly. Item, he left to his sister Joney Shimmin half a heifer and six pence apiece to all that could legally claim any right in his goods. Item, he appointed his daughter Anne Executor of all the rest of his goods, but if the child died under age then all the goods to fall due to his wife and sister Joney equally betwixt them. Item, he appointed John Cotter supervisor of his child. To the witness of his will six pence apiece legacy. Witness: Patrick Cain, Marriod Kelly. The Executrix being under age, the wife is sworn in Court in form of Law. The child & goods in the wife’s hands, who hath given pledges Patrick Quayle & Patrick Cain in form of Law.

October 27th, 1717: The Inventory in gross is 4 pounds 12 shillings 0 pence. John Cottier above said is sworn supervisor in form of Law. The Heiress when she comes to age has her choice either of the price above or 20 stoaks of barley & 40 stoaks of oats.

November 2nd, 1717: This day received of Jony Shimmin als Clucas the sum of 6 shillings 6 pence in full consideration of the one half on an heifer that was bequeathed unto Jony Shhimin my wife by Ratcliffe Shimin her brother in full of all legacies that I or my said wife can claim to the said Ratcliffe Shimin’s goods forever. At witness my hand this day and year afore said. [signed his mark] William Bell. Witnesses: Patrick Caine, John Quay.

November 29, 1727: This Receipt acknowledged before me: William Gell, Registrar.

At St John’s Chapel, 9th July 1733: John Shimin the husband of Ann Shimin Executrix of Radcliff Shimin acknowledges to be fully paid and satisfied by Jony Shimin als Clucas in the sum of six pounds & for whatever else became due to the said Ann by her father’s decease. And does hereby acquit and discharge the said Jony, her Executors, & Administrators of the same forever. And this before me, Edward Moore, Ar. Regr."
