K Maughold Octobr. 23rd 1699 The Last will & testament of John Looney who departed this Life ye 12th of Novr. 1699 Impirimses, he comitteth his Soule to God & his body to Christian buryall, Itt. he bequeatheth, to his dear wife one quarter of the Brown Cow & all his part of the flax & his best wastcott with one sheepe Itt to his sonn James Colleash, as much as will fitt him one pare of drawers or wastcott, Itt. to his sonn donold Thirteenth shillings & six pence Legersey & one doublett & his best pare of drawers, Itt. to his sonn John four shillings or the worth of them, with a pare of breaches & one old Coatte Itt. to his granchild James two sheepe and one lambe, & if he doe not live to take it, the same to be given to the othr. boy Jo : , & likewise he be queatheth to the …… one sheepe & one Lambe, Itt : to Will : Xtian bala- faile halfe a mutton & the othr. halfe to Robert Quay and his mothr., And he declared that his son Jo : nor donold shall not force thr. brothr. Will. to pay them, the above sd. moneyes, but receive it of him as he Can pay them without any hindrance, And he bequeathed six pence apiece to the wittneses hereof, & apointed his said sonn Will : Sole [Executtr.] of the rest of his goods moveable & unmovable Whatsoevr.
