Archdeacon Will 1696/7 #3 Braddan, of David Lace of Douglas, died 21 Apr 1692:
"Duglass: This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of David Lace of Duglas, who departed this life on the 21st of April 1692. First he bequeathed his soul to Almighty God and his body to Christian burial. Item, he left to his sister Jane five pound legacy. Item, to his mother five shillings. Item, to his sister Jony 6d legacy. Item, to his sister Ann six pence legacy. Item, to his sister Ester six pence legacy. Item, he left to his sister Jane a feather bed. Item, he constituted and ordained his brother Mongo Lace his true and lawful Executor of the house and other effects. Witnesses: xxx Curlett his mark X, Robert Moore, jurati. The Executor being out of the Island, his sister Jane being the principal creditor and next relation in the Island, is sworn according to Law. Probatum est et Solvit 6d. February 16th 1696/7: Margaret Lace enters her claim against the Executors of her son David Lace for the sum of four pounds, which she paid upon his account to Robert Kelly late of Duglas as appears by a specialty under the said David Lace his hand and craveth Law. A true and perfect Inventory of the goods of David Lace of Duglas (late deceased) prised by 4 sworn men viz., John Vinch, Thomas Kelley, Phil: Christian, and John Cannell. The total of his goods being the house and garden which amounts to the sum of 12 pounds 0 shillings 0 pence. This is truth as witness our subscriptions this 14th of June 1698. John Vinch my mark, Thomas Kelley my mark, Phil Christian my mark, John Cannell my mark. June 14th 1698: Jane Lace enters her claim against the executor of David Lace for the sum of 2 pounds 10s 0d, due to the claimant by the death of her father, as will be made to appear &c."
