Archideaconal Will 1661/62/63 #62 Braddan of Hugh Kissage,

died 18 January 1662/3, page 29:

"HUGH KISSAGE departed this life ye 18th of Ja: 1662.
First he bequeathed his soule to God his body to Christian buriell.
It, he left all his goods moveable & unmoveable unto his BROTHER'S DAUGHTER CHRISTIAN QUAYLE ALIAS KISSAGE jointly between her & HER BROTHER EDW: KISSAGE his xxxxxx sone his executor. Testes: John Quayle, Sandy Quayle[?], jurati. Sotuo tamen vincinge suo jure. The Execr sworne in form of Law.

Invent is to bee brought in at or before the Court day next. Subpoena 5s ad usu dom:

AN INVENT OF YE GOODS OF HUGH KISSAGE as followeth: It, one old feather bed & an old flaxe bed 10s;
It 3 fledges price 10s;
It 2 old coverlett 6s;
It 1 old flagon of pewter 2s;
It 2 pewter dishes 1s 2d;
It one hettle 2s 6d. It due from High Moore in money 3pounds ,& in goods 1:1:1;
It due from widow Flaidlsh[?] 15s. Pldge Gilbt Caine, secunda forma legis. The bonds are released & have given in counterbonds seconda forma legis Paule Gelling & Christian Kewley.

MR. WILLM CURGHY entereth his claime against the Executors of HUGH KISSAGE for ye sum of 10 pounds due debt as hee will make to appear & craveth trial. Apl 16, 1663.

MAR 6TH 24TH 1662/3: NICHOLAS KILLY entereth his claime against ye Executors of HUGH KISSAGE for a brass pott which was priced to 8s & craveth tryall according to law.

DAVID MORREY entereth his claime against ye executors of HUGE KUSSAGE for ye sum of 3s 5d due debt as he will make to appear & craveth tryall. Mar 25, 1662/3.

MAR THE 24TH 1662/3: JAMES KERMOD entereth his claime againse the executors of HUGH KUSSAGE for the sum of 4 pounds upon his owne account & 4 pounds upon his wife's MARGT KISSAG account as he shall make to appear & craveth tryall.

MARCH 24, 1662: WILL CURLET entereth his claime against ye Executors of HUGH KISSAGE 10d for white leather & to his wife 3-6d & for a hatt due to his son 4s all which he will make to appear & craveth tryall.

WHEREAS MR. WILLM CURGHY claimeth one pound as added of gift from the Executrs of HUGH KISSAGE deceased & ye sd deed of gift being proved by one witness (which under reformacion ye defendants conceive not legall and being censured by the spiritual officer to make mutual payment according to the censure: yet it is that the defendants lookeinge upon the illegallitye of the cause thes their appeale from the said censure unto the worshipful officers for releeise humbly prayinge the ausplanie[?] of this our appeale as witness our names & marks thie 14th of June 1663: Edw: Kissage X, Christian quaile, xxxxx Kissage his mark X. JUNE 15TH 1663: THE DEEDE OF GIFTE beene proved by the temporall judge, wh the Appellant conceives not to bee lawfull in regard of the insufficiencie of the witnesses, tyme of 14 days is given him to prove the same in a temporal court where it properly belongs; in the interim his appeale is humbly accepted of and our execution stayed, until he bring us certificate within the type limited from the temporal officers, let this be recorded in our spirituall registry, dat: ut supra.
