  Paul and Alice Bridson with 2 children & 2 assistants (or servants) had a house
in Douglas 1730. This Alice was Alice Joyner. At the same time there were several
householders in Douglas, widow Joyner with 4 children, Thos & Mary Joyner with 3 
Chn & 2 servants, and Robert Joyner living alone (Richd Joyner of Douglas his only da Margt md as 1st wife Robert Heywood and had issue)
Captain paul Bridson d. 24 Oct 1772 in 79th year. Alice Joyner his wife died 15th
March 1755 in 55th year. Burd at Braddan Paul Bridson was one of the principal
landowners in Braddan 1741 "Bridson was in the Manx customs, and was in trade in
1755, and a factor for others, and had an assistant whose salary was paid by the Lord" "Wm
Cubbin, merchant Douglas said that Paul Bridson was Deputy Searcher in Douglas,
in trade, carried on trade to a great extent, was head constable in Douglas, and had 2
assistants" (from evidence given 1792 to the IoM harbours ct)

1863 Paul Bridson who d 1876 says in his diary at date Feb 24 "Brother Ridgeway died aged 67"
1790 Paul Brideson, broker, lived at 3 Old Church Yard, Counting house in Strand st Liverpool
[ Gore's 1790 directory has  25 Strand st, in 1796 P B was at 10 Byrom St with Office Hop and Herring Warehouse at 25 Strand st;
 a Mrs Martha Brideson was at 18 Shaw's Brow, Liverpool in 1790, in 1796 replaced by Miss Mary Brideson at same address
 This may well be Mary Brideson dau of Paul Bridson, b 18 Sep 1772, ch 8 Oct 1772 St Thomas', Liverpool (igi batch C161161)
 A Paul Bridson  married Martha Kidd 5 Jun 1770 at Farnworth Near Prescot  - this is confirmed from a comment in Paul Bridson's own
notes on his genealogy (courtesy of Michael Bridson):
    Paul settled in Liverpool and md Martha: Daughter of John Kidd of Lpool Gentleman: 
    [in margin born 1741 baptised at St Mathew Chapel May 1741] 
    he died 8 July 1774: aged 33 & was buried at Saint Thomas Liverpool he had one son Paul died an infant in 1771 (May 11) 
    and 2 daughters Mary died 30 dec 1828 aged 57  unmarried & Alice 1st wife of Mr (David crossed out) Latham Haumer(?) HMC  Lpool died 22 April 1797 aged 23 
    and had an Infant who had [pre]deceased her. Mrs Bridson also died in 1794 aged 43 and all buried at St Thomas Liverpool]
