NOTE.- As stated in the introductory page at beginning of the Book, the Lists of Hotels, Board and Lodging, and Farm Houses, and Houses to Let Furnished contained herein are compiled each year from particulars supplied to the Board by the Proprietors or Managers of the several Establishments, and are inserted with the object of assisting Visitors who require this class of information. It must, however, be clearly understood, that the insertion of such particulars implies no recommendation by the Board of the various houses and hotels in question, and that the Department accepts no responsibility or obligation in connection with these lists or the paid advertisements contained in the Book.

The Loch Promenade extends along the sea front from the Victoria Landing Pier to St. Thomas' Church, and is at this point joined by the Harris Promenade. A frequent service of Horse Tram Cars plies between the Victoria Pier and the Terminus at Derby Castle, at the farther end of the Bay.
