Not relaed im sure - but I came across this and thought it made good reading:
William Lace and Patrick Cooile were impressed in December 1756. Lace's wife, Margaret, and William Cooile, Patricks father, went to Scotland to try and "get them off". They foung the men in Stranraer goal 'until they could be put aboad a kings ship' and it was 'impossible to get them discharged'
