Many of the North American Christian Clan descend from Patrius Christian - s/o William Christan (Illiam Dhone) - my understanding is that post restoration this side of the Christian Family moved to Ireland (where most records were lost in 1922 civil war) and then some emigrated to North America.

Mrs Hicks Beeach in 'the yesterdays behind the door ' p52 states that George s/o Illiam Dhone's eldest son Wm sold Ronaldsway in 1702 and moved to Old Grange Waterford where uncle Patricius (I.D's 8th son) had moved (Patricius d 1687 as Prebenary of Lismore Cathedral + also had large family) - 4 generations & an enormous family lived at Old Grange.
It was Patricius's gson Israel who emigrated to Virginia in 1740. Other sons of I.D. emigrated to England - no doubt some others + many Manx Christians also emigrated to North America.

I'm sure somewhere there must be a reasonably reliable family tree (the Christian Family Chronicles were referenced in one early issue of IoMFam Hist mag) but google returns many links to spurious information.
