I don't know that he was definitely in england in 1881, only that he spent time over there. Was there an apprenticeship to become a mason?

His age on marriage on 17th May 1888 was 27, married in Peel New Church (presumably St. Germans) ref P ger 51

I,m going to have to try the manx museum for a birth entry, and hope, when I come over in July.
