The reason why Brian didn't include 1881 in his census indexes was because he thought the transcripts on FamilySearch (NOT Ancestry) were as good as the ones he had. There are always errors of course, in all transcripts, but FamilySearch is markedly better than Ancestry, which is odd. You would expect Ancestry to use those transcripts to double-check their appalling index.
It is quite easy to make your own index from FamilySearch by using the limitations they offer. And once you have possible entries you can look up the scan on Ancestry, by-passing their index.
