Yes it's a good suggestion to do one generation at a time and I had wondered about the different spelling for Kessick (Kissack), the christening of James has the latter, but I had put it down to the lack of literacy in the nineteenth century as there was not a standard way of spelling, even among the well educated, but yes, I should sort this before going any further back. I have checked the Lawson burial site, but found no record for my people.
