I'm inclined to believe that the "phurt" I'm looking for was along the coast in Michael, and in this instance I also believe it was meant as "port" (see burial record of John Kaighin, port, Michael, 24 Jun 1800). The records (all burials between 1730 and 1847) referring to The Phurt are Kaighin families descended from one of the early Ballacregga Kaighin families. This could suggest that the "port" was actually the mouth of Glen Wyllin.
