This is how we get inland Ports like Yusser mentions up Ballaugh Glen and of course Port y Chee in Braddan and Port e Candis at St. John's. Of course we have some candidates for locations of Forts in Michael - See Rex Kissack's piece on Borodaill in the Proc. NH & AS. A coastal location gives us major problems as given the rate of coastal erosion in KM any place on the coast in the 16th or 17th c has long since been lost. You might have a bit more luck with the 19th c. This is why my landscape research is staying away from the NW of the Island!

Unless the Kaighins of the Phurt were sub-tenants, we should get them in Lib Assed, unfortunately I haven't yet transcribed Michael for 1540 however I see Frances has a fantastic transcript of the 1691 Survey of Lives foir KM which gives us three different holdings. One is obviously my ancestors (+ those of thousands more) at B'cregga but who were the others??
