But wait, from the information I was given earlier I see it doesn't quite make sense. I was told that my g grandfather had been married twice and had Elizabeth Ann Spence in 1880 but in the accompanying census report for 1881 Elizabeth Ann is listed as being 11 years old so that can't be right. She must have been born in c. 1870 - and as my g grandfather was only 18 then I wonder if this was right or if my original information was wrong?

I suppose I need to have it confirmed that my g grandfather J J Spence, cabinet maker, b. 1852 was married to someone before he married my g grandmother Louisa Cregeen in 1885.

As we never knew about this first marriage I am inclined to believe that there was no earlier wife but if there was I'd love to know!

I hope this makes sense!? And that someone can help me!
