Peter, My latest Embroiderers' Guild Magazine has an account of a Tasmanian artist Christina Henri, who has set up a worldwide project to pay tribute to the 25,566 convict women transported from the British Isles and Ireland to Australia. Using an original 1800's servant's bonnet pattern, Christina has been encouraging women to embroider a bonnet and contribute to an exhibition 'Roses from the Heart'. You can add a note saying why you chose a particular convict woman- name, age, name of ship etc. Would you like me to make one naming your Sarah and send it from the Isle of Man?
