I've been doing more digging, and we're on the wrong track. William & Jane Godsoe had 11 children on the IGI, and there are 2 middle names of interest: Nelson and Stevenson. Also, in 1851 they have a visitor named Catherine Fell age 16 born IOM.

Now, it turns out there's only one Catherine Fell born IOM on the IGI that fits, the daughter of Robert FELL and Jane KEWLEY b 1834 at Malew. I looked up this family in 1851 and they are there (minus Catherine of course). Robert is age 50 born Douglas. I then went back to the IGI and Robert is the son of Paul FELL and Isabella STEVENSON. The IGI lists many children of this couple (mostly FELL, but 2 FAYLE) including one called Nelson. No Jane, though. Perhaps she missed the IGI.

So, I predict when you obtain the marriage certificate for Jane's second marriage, the father will be Paul Fell. Odd, though, that none of the 11 children have the parent's names.

While sleuthing about, I noticed an IGI marriage of William GODSOE to Mary Ann CLARKE 15 Feb 1826 St Peter's Church Liverpool. As he was born ca 1799, this might be an earlier marriage for him.
