The Flax mill was situated at the bottom of Glen Wyllin on the site of the old corn mill [now the fish farm] at Kerro cruin. The corn mill was owned by Corjeages, but due to coastal erosion it has been lost to the sea. Flax is Linseed [Linum] and as Frances has stated it is harvested in July then retted in flax ponds to remove [rot] the outer tissues to leave the fibres which are used in the linen trade.
