Thanks for that Sue. I did find those messages via the search button before I posted and saw that the average age in the 19th century examples seemed to be about 15. In the 18th century case I came across there were just two lists of names, male & female, with no other details, and I wondered if I could make the assumption that they would likewise be young people approaching adulthood, rather than children.
