Re: THE CRETNEY FAMILY
In Response To: Re: THE CRETNEY FAMILY ()

Oh Thank you, Thank you! This confirms some of my own research as well as giving lots of leads to expand it. I am a descendent through Robert Cretney the second youngest son. My research shows that Robert married Margrett(sp) Cowley and had 11 children, Edward Ceaser being my direct connection. He must have emigrated to Canada but I dont know when. He married Hazel Anne Scott Mather in 1911 in Fort Steele British Columbia.

Specifically I am interested to find 1) if any other Cretneys in this line emigrated with Robert or after to Canada, 2) if there is a connection between all the Cretneys in the US through this family.

But eventually I would like to be able to track all siblings marriages of both Robert and Edward Ceasar.

And Kissack, and Cowley and so on.....

Please note, I am not asking for you to do this all for me, I'm just really excited about all things Cretney!! The Cretney family in BC know very little about the generations before Robert Ceaser and are eager to hear all that I learn. Fort Steele is now a Provincial Heritage Site, and my Great Uncle Edward Cretney who is now 93 is the oldest living descendant that I know of here.
