The "reformed Convict Exiles" had already served part of their sentence in a penitentiary in Britain and were granted a conditional pardon or ticket of leave on arrival in the Colony. This means that he was free on arrival, subject to certain conditions. Unfortunately this also means that the govt was less interested in keeping track of him, by recording his description, etc. - Which is not to say that more info can't be found, because the convicts in general were very well recorded. There also could be more details on the passenger records of the 'Hashemy' sailed 9/06/1849 from Portsmouth.
The State Archives of NSW has his trial at the Isle of Man Assizes on 13 Jan. 1847. Do you know where these records are kept?
