Re: Who is likely to be correct?

Just so we are clear, the transcribed document on my site for Isabella Cain, 1837, is a Decree of Administration issued for someone who died intestate, i.e. had not made a Will.

For many genealogical purposes it is minor, legal distinction. In a case like this it can be important as by using the correct terms we know we are looking at the same document.

Shirley's transcript was sent to me with no pagination and there was no indication the date in brackets was her own insertion. (BTW this reinforces my belief that researcher's comments should not be included with any transcripts.)

As you have a copy of the Decree, I would welcome an up-dated transcript.
