I don't think son thomas b1911 and when A W Moore was writing c.1890 proprietor of Billown was in Australia - he would be 57'sh in your time frame - his fa if still alive I think near 100; it was his bro George who left the money to 1811thomas's son thomas - all the thomases were CP (as I said a largely cremonial office given to largest landowner.
My own suspicion is that it was a fairy tale - however if Anne was in service at Billown then possible I guess
