Re: Looking for Bridson relatives

Don't have a death cert, will follow that up. He died in WA. We knew his date of birth as 2nd Dec 1860, but by the Karrakatta cemetery records it indicates that the date of birth was 1858. He was working on a ship so there are no passenger list records. In Australia no war records. He is supposed to have jumped ship and gone to Broken Hill to marry gran, but there is a book with a supposedly comprehensive list of ships deserters and there is no one in that who could be him. He met her on the ship he was working on when she came out - the "Austral", but he is supposed to have gone back to IOM to see his family before he came back out and married her. I thought that maybe there is a family record from one of the sisters somewhere of a Brother William who worked on ships and who emigrated to Aus. I was most disappointed with the marriage cert - it gives no details at all, not even an address. Has usual place of residence as the mine where he worked. No age, no parents names, no birthplace. Have found a crew list of the Austral in 1885 which had a William Bridson age 26 - but no other details.
