don't get me onto this - there is a caucus on Patrick church council that has so far stopped the vicar from depositing the records with the Museum - they are kept in a damp safe + need immediate conservation (pages of marriage register are loose being detached from body) - quite why they believe that keeping the records in the vestry safe enhances access for family historians defeats me.
I believe that a couple of other parishes have either lost/mislaid the register or havn't yet deposited them (tho for some like Foxdale it may well be that they are still using the original from the mid 19th C)
