can some kind person try and explain a puzzle
edith ann cowell married my great grandfather [ cain on me mams side ] john henry cain in which we cannot find the date as yet,
in 1901 census they had lydia [ known as lily ] born 1890 and robert henry born 1894 [ my grandad known as harry ] but not so the truth with daughter as edith had lydia [ cowell ] 1890 [ no father ] befor that alice maud 1866 [no father ]
1891 shows edith living with parents john and elizabeth cowell and the two girls,
1901 with john h cain [head ] edith [ wife] lydia daughter age 11 and son robert henry age 7,no other daughter as alice is living with grand parents,

i went to museum today and got a page of john cowell will, it reads
rebbecca forshaw [his daughter
edith ann cowell my daughter
lydia cowell my grandaughter
Alice clarke my grandaughter they were left money
he leaves all the rest to son william thomas cowell, his wife had died a year earlier, and son john stanley died ahe 17 yrs, and here is the puzzle
robert henry was born 14 or 15 yrs befor john cowell died and yet not mentioned in his will and edith was said to be cowell [ not cain ] the other girls were married and they were mentioned under married names
so why would edith be named edith cowell still
lbecause edith and john mustve been married because robert was born and reg ,as he is on brians site and bmd sent me details of his birth
