Andrew Kelly or Duggan Kelly is very hard to trace here when he should be easy. Kelly may have been one of the commonest names but Andrew is not.
In 1871 I can find an Andrew grandson living with
grandparents James & Elinor. But can't find a Duggan
connection. [ Living Mona Street , Douglas Car Prop. ]

Perhaps he did join the army as a boy bandsman.
