Yes. Clara _was_ born in IOM. This Boer was business is very odd. We have just had this information from a lady who is his granddaughter. But she doesn’t seem to have any hard facts. As I said we have him in the 1901 census, which wouldn’t give him much time to get himself into the army. He might well have been home on leave of course, but I very much doubt that. I was told that getting details of none commissioned servicemen isn’t at easy. I’m not sure now just what to do about it. for the moment we shall just concentrate on finding his marriage.
