Hi Brian, I suspect this impinges on two halves of my family - anyway I'll put it up for dissection!
1826 23rd Jul Malew: John Hudson (b.1800-05) married Catherine Bell (?d/o Thomas & Charlotte Taubmann, bpt 1806 Mal?). Children James bpt 5/7/27 CasStM and Catherine Bpt 26/3/1837 CasStM (why big gap?- no births in IGI).
1837-41 Hudsons moved to L'pool
1841 Census HO_107_566_fol19/10_pg13, Shaw Alley Askew Place L'pool: Hudson, John, 40; Hudson, Catherine, 35; Hudson, James, 14; Hudson, Catherine, 4; Gordon, George, 30; Bell, Thomas, 30. (A Thos Bell s/o Thos & Charlotte Taubman, was bpt 30/4/1810 Malew)
1843 - birth of Edward Hudson (see Len's string).
1842/8 death of John Hudson in L'pool.
1849 30th Sep Mal: Marriage of John Benjamin Lawson & Catherine Hudson.
1851 Census - Castletown_3_9: 1, Quay St : as your 1st string BUT, age of Catherine , Daur, was 14 in my census CD. Note also at 1, Quay St in 1851 was Thomas Bell & wife Charlotte als Taubman.
1851 Oct: Death of John (Benjamin) Lawson - (bpt 1803 IGI s/o Thomas Lawson and Ann Fayle/Fell). Thos & Ann married at Lonan in 1798. Thomas was s/o William Lawson & Isabella Graham/Skillicorn - Thomas Lawson from Castletown was mentioned in 1819 applicn for decree of admin for Wm Lawson.
1853 Cath Lawson married John Hudgeon
1861 James Quinney m. Cath Hutson (25)
1861 Census - as in your 1st string.
I'll pursue this further from both ends, looking for definite evidence either way.
My 3xg grandfather Robert Lawson was a gt uncle to John Benjamin Lawson; Catherine Bell was the daughter of my 3xg grandfather Thomas Bell.
