Thanks Frances for the information. Does anyone have a poll book, or directory for after 1835, which might give an indication of whether Sophia was still on the Island after this time. I have found a marriage on Free BMD in Liverpool in the 1840s, but just need to verify the possibility before wasting money on a certificate!
