a Samuel Pring was noted as auctioneer, Athol-st Douglas in 1823 - presumeably the same Samuel bur 24 Nov 1824 at St George's (an Hannah Pring age 27 , ? daughter, was buried SG in 1832) - possibly his widow carried on business with running the The Albion Hotel in the Parade Douglas where a Mrs Pring is noted from c. 1831 to 1835 (not it seems in the 1841census)
