Most accounts of folks from the Isle coming to the US seem to deal with settlements in the midwest (Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin etc)
. My own great grandparents came in 1851 and never went further than Brooklyn, NY. I never knew why and wonder if there was a Manx community in the greater New York area or the east coast. I'd appreciate any information anyone has.
