Re: Fargher/Faragher - pronounced ???

It looks more like a geographical distinction - plus the usual phonetic and writing vagaries.
At least pre 1900 Fargher seems slightly more common in the North, Faragher in the South.

I have not done a scientific analysis but that is my general feeling from transcribing the various census, birth, marriage and burial records.
