If Patrick had a younger relative Patrick Lawson he might have been known as Patrick senior (like in wills) - that was my theory. There was definitely a dot over the end letters of his surname.
The dodgy enumerator might just have assumed Lawson because of putting it beside his wife's name.

I think those two were Lawson, and the other family not.
