Compulsory registration of births was much later
than 1837 - as in England. A few voluntary regs.
exist but most are fom 1878. I'm glad you
do have census entries . When some of my family
started their search they asked me to look up
people here. Each and everyone had said they were
Manx but meant they had Manx born mothers AND fathers .[ Only socializing in their own group as many
immigrants do now. ]
