Goodwin needs to be treated with care but for Peel based folk of his or his mother's period is usually correct (he had a good ear for the skeet) but I've been told often one-sided as he may well have only had access to one side of a family - other than gossip he worked mostly from the newspapers plus access to the parish registers etc then held at St Peter's Peel. Have you checked out the will he mentions ?
