Ann Quane and William Kellly

After a long period of digging I have found my 3 X g grandmother's family. Her father seems to be Captain John Quane, Douglas. Captain of "Slaver" MHK bn 1757 d 1838. He supposedly owned the Sheffied and York Hotels. Either he or his father obtained and owned the grant for Conister Rock in or around 1780. According to the records I have found via the internet Ann was illegitimate I wonder does anyone from these lines knows who might have been her mother? Also does anyone have any information on William Kelly, her husband? I have tried for years and on my trips home to the Island spent hours at both the museum and the registry and found nothing to give me a clue about him. I would love to know where he came from and his family lines back from him. I have many other lines back to the 1500's and before but I am stuck with the Kelly/Quane lines.

I know that they lived in ScraVolley in the id 1800's and were on census records which I have copies of. Scravolley is owned by friends of mine now and I hve had the privilege of spending time in it.

I know that they had 13 children one of whom was Caesar Kelly, a joiner from Foxdale. I have a lot of info on him. My 2X g grandfather was another son, Stephen kelly, a shoe maker, he married Mary ?? from Ireland possibly in Liverpool, still to clarify. Another Sister was Mariah/Maria and she married Edward Bawden from the Cornish family who managed the Foxdale mines for a while.

If anyone is related to these lines and would like anything that I have to date please contact me and I would be happy to share what I do have.

Any help please would be so appreciated.

Kind regards

Sue
