1841 census has the family living at ScraVolley Section 3 page 23 Entry 99 8 children seem to be mentioned.
1851 census the same Section 1 page 28 Entry 1 & children plus one granddaughter Mary Ann Quane 5 yrs.
Goodwin's Scrapbook from Frances' site talks about the Quane family. It is here that I found on page 5 reference to Ann being Captain John's illegitimate daugther and receiving a pretty large amount of his estate when he died. It talks about her living at ScraVolley on the Ballcraine to hope road which ties up with all the other eveidence I have found. It mentions William and says that a William Kelly lived at the Shore Peel 1837. It can't be Ann's husband as they were married and living at ScraVolley at that time.
It talks about William and Ann's son William who was a tailor in Peel, he ran a shop at 10, Michael Street. Found later on records in 1881 census. He was a Tailor and Draper and employed 2 men and 2 boys. Goodwins Scrapbook says Wililam junior was known as William the ?????ised at commenced in the lodging house at Ballaquane rd. This was found in 1894 Brown's directory. THe house was then known as Shakspeare House. I stayed at this address last Christmas as friends of ours now own it now coincidentally.
Sorry about the length of this but you did ask what I had.
Who was William Kelly who married Ann? Where did he come from?
Who was Ann Quane's mother or how might I go in investigating this?
Any help would be so appreciated. As you can tell from my layout I am an not very knowlegable about how to do this all properly layed out etc. I am sorry if it is confusing in any way. I have gotten a lot of info over the years but this line has eluded me until I recently got a break on Ann's father's identity.
Kind regard and thanks for any assistance.
