Mt Great Grandma, Helen Quine, was definately from and born in the Isle of Man. She married William Stowell, birth place unknown.

i cannot find a marriage record on the BMD index for the uk, so I am assuming that they got married in the Isle of Man.

I know that Helen had a brother or sister as my Nana had at least one cousin still in the Isle of Man that we all used to visit. I have old photos from the 40s sent to my Nana from Laxey photo studios. I know I've visited Laxey when I've been over with my parents.

Helen Quine and William Stowell had three children. Mary Stowell (my Nana, born 1924) William Alan Stowell (born 1926) and Ralph Stowell (born and died 1927). All three children were born and registered in the Manchester area. Mary Stowell then married my grandad in 1945 and they had their only child, my mum in 1947, who married my father in 1970.

Hope this clarifies things? It my great grandparents marriage Im trying to find, but dont know how/where to look and i cant get any further on till i find it. My Nana died last september and my Grandads memory is a bit hit and miss, especially when it comes to differentiating between me and my mum, who died in 1994. My Nanas brother who made it to adult life died in 2001 so theres no family left that I could ask that would know.
